Lockdown Work!

 Lockdown Work!

Kia orana everyone!  Auckland has been in level 4 lockdown for 4 weeks! So I am going to talk about the school work I've been doing and my favorite parts of them! For Maths, Reading and Writing we have a task board for each subject. There is one big board that has the different subject boards on it. Maths is the only subject that has different group boards.

I don't really like lockdown because I don't enjoy sitting in my chair for too long. My favorite work from Maths for this week was probably the long shots for Maths because you get to play it with your family. Long shots is where you have a basket or box and a ball. You have to step 1 meter away to start and then throw the ball in the basket/box. If you get it in you step 1 meter further away and keep doing that until the ball doesn't get in the basket and the rest of your family does the same. Whoever is the furthest wins!

My favorite work from Writing this week was making the world's most disgusting sandwich because it was fun writing down a very weird and gross combination of food. Last main subject is Reading, my favorite work was the 3-2-1 where you have to read a story first and I chose Know Your Nutrients then you have to SMRF a doc and write 3 facts you didn't know, 2 things you found interesting and 1 thing you didn't understand! I found this quick and easy.

There were other subjects like Drama, Technology and Inquiry as well but I didn't do most of them, because I didn't enjoy these as I am not into dancing or play, and am not that motivated in home learning.

Blog you later everyone!

  1. Hi Nora. Awesome paragraphs about your home learning! You have written some thoughtful comments with great reflections on how things are going for you. I agree, it’s definitely not easy sitting for too long. Maybe after one or two subjects, have a walk inside or outside, check out signs of Spring, have a snack, just like you do at school at Brain Break time. How was Sophie’s Marine Reserve talk? Keep up your great work, Nora. Kia Kaha.

  2. Great work Nora!

Glad to hear you are enjoying the tasks during lockdown!
I would love to read your disgusting sandwich writing. Maybe you could share the link on your next post?
I also don't like sitting down for too long, it's important to go outside for walks in your area and get some fresh air :)

Keep up the fantastic work :)

  3. Glad you are sharing Nora. Great that you are doing the tasks that you like doing. Everyone doesnt always like the same stuff so the teachers are trying to give a mixture of things to keep it interesting. Its a tricky time but hopefully not for too much longer. Take little breaks for a change. Maybe for a snack, change of scenery or fresh air. Stay happy and healthy.
